Sandy Garret’s Gingersnaps

Cream together:
2 C white sugar
1 1/2 C shortening
2 eggs
1 1/2 C molasses

Sift together and add:
2 tsp baking sod
4 1/3 C all purpose flour
2 tsp cinnamon
2 tsp ground cloves
2 tsp ginger

The cookie dough will be very sticky. Drop with a small ice cream scoop into sugar and roll. Bake 10 minutes at 375 F. Cookies will look underdone and be flat when they cool.
